Indiana in Top 10 For Retirement Plan Participation

Subscribe NowA report from The Pew Charitable Trusts says Indiana ranks seventh in the nation for workers participating in a workplace retirement plan with 57 percent. The report also says Indiana ranks lower in the percentage of workers have access to a workplace retirement plan.
The report says 63 percent of Indiana workers have access to a plan, putting the state 19th in the nation.
The Pew analysis focused on full-time, full-year, private sector wage and salary workers between the ages of 18 and 64. The report says in Indiana, over 500,000 workers lack access to a retirement savings plan or pension through their employer.
Wisconsin topped the list with the highest access to retirement plans with 70 percent and tied Minnesota with the highest percentage of worker participation in a retirement plan at 61 percent. Florida has the lowest percentage for participation and access at 38 percent and 46 percent, respectively.
