New Jersey-based Subaru of America Inc., which is owned by the same Japanese parent company as Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. in Lafayette, is expecting to cross the 600,000-car sales barrier by the year-end closing date of January 3.
SIA is the only Subaru production plant in the U.S. and it recently rolled its five millionth vehicle off the line since opening the Tippecanoe County facility as Subaru Isuzu Automotive Inc. in 1989. Subaru Outback, Legacy and Impreza models are produced in Lafayette.
