A Jeffersonville-based CPA firm has been acquired by Strothman and Co. of Louisville. As part of the deal, Logsdon & Co. Founder Pat Logsdon has been named partner in charge of the Clark County office. A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for next week in Jeffersonville. January 22, 2015

News Release

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (January 21, 2015) – Strothman and Company of Louisville, Kentucky has announced it has merged with Southern Indiana firm Logsdon & Co. Pat Logsdon, founder of Logsdon & Co., will remain with the merged firm as the Partner in Charge of the new 1,700 square-foot Jeffersonville office located at 290 Missouri Avenue. Strothman and Company celebrated the new location and merger on Wednesday with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Bill Meyer, Strothman and Company partner, marked the occasion with One Southern Indiana President and CEO, Wendy Dant Chesser and Economic and Redevelopment Director of the City of Jeffersonville Rob Waiz, who each spoke during the event.

Strothman and Company was founded over 30 years ago and is the fifth largest Kentucky-owned CPA firm. The firm’s focus is helping entrepreneurial businesses grow. The merged firm will have approximately 70 employees; six of those working in the Jeffersonville office.

Pat Logsdon said that the merger will allow him to provide more services to assist his clients with their personal and business needs. Meyer stated that his firm had been looking for an opportunity to open an office in Southern Indiana. “We believe that the pro-business policies of Indiana, combined with the opening of two new bridges, will make Southern Indiana a center of business growth and expansion. We wanted to be there.”

Strothman and Company Opens Indiana Location

On November 1, 2014 Strothman and Company officially moved into its Jeffersonville office. Meyer predicts that the Southern Indiana business community is going to grow in the decades to come. “We believe Indiana is going to be a boom area in the next 10 to 20 years,” says Meyer. “The completion of the Ohio River Bridges Project, the lower individual tax rate in Indiana, and Indiana’s right-to-work status prompted us to expand into the state.”

Meyer says that Strothman and Company entered into a long-term lease for their 290 Missouri Avenue location. “We have invested significant time and money to make our Indiana Office a success,” says Meyer.
