In his resignation, Ackerman said he believes the company would be better served by a leader with a fresh perspective and focus to achieve its aggressive vision for growth and market presence. Ackerman has been with Indiana Furniture for 19 years. He has served as president and CEO since 2010 and served as chief financial offer prior to that.
“Bret’s service to our company over nearly two decades is exemplary," said Phil Schneider, board chairman. "We have the utmost respect for his commitment to the stakeholders of Indiana Furniture as he made this major personal decision to help continue the momentum of improving the relevance of Indiana Furniture to the office furniture marketplace.”
Schneider says Ackerman will remain as interim CEO until a permanent replacement is found.
