INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE, Ind. – The National Park Service and its partners will announce their plans for a more than year-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore during a media event. The event’s date, November 6, 2014, is also the 48th anniversary of the authorization of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
Who: Superintendent Paul Labovitz and representatives from several park partner organizations
What: A media event, with refreshments, to unveil plans for the park's 50th anniversary celebration in 2016
Where: Indiana Dunes Visitor Center's auditorium

When: Thursday, November 6, 2014, 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
The media is invited share in birthday cake, coffee, and tea and talk to representatives from the national lakeshore and partner organizations about the planned celebration marking Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s 50th anniversary and the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary in 2016.
