Indiana companies named to inaugural ‘Accessibility 100’ list

A pair of Indiana-based companies is included in Forbes’ inaugural Accessibility 100 list, which recognizes “the biggest innovators and impact-makers in the field of accessibility for people with disabilities.”
The publication compiled the list, which is not a ranking, based on more than 400 interviews and conversations with industry experts, as well as input from an expert advisory board.
Forbes said the disability areas in which the honorees are making an impact include sensory, mobility or physical, and neurodivergence.
The Indiana representatives on the list include AgrAbility, a USDA-sponsored program that assists farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural workers with disabilities based in West Lafayette.
Carmel-based BraunAbility, a manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vehicles, wheelchair lifts, and wheelchair securement products, also made the list.
“BraunAbility was founded on the belief that mobility should never be a barrier to independence,” Craig Schrimsher, president of BraunAbility Americas, said in a news release. “Being recognized by Forbes in its Accessibility 100 list is a testament to the impact we’ve made in empowering individuals worldwide. We will continue pushing the boundaries of accessible mobility, ensuring that more people have the freedom and independence they deserve.”
