Indiana Cheese Trail Now Open

Hoosiers and visitors can now follow the cheddar brick road to experience Indiana’s Cheese Trail after a kick-off celebration earlier this month at Crystal Springs Creamery in Osceola. The American Dairy Association Indiana says the features 10 dairy farms and creameries across the state.

“A lot of people are interested in supporting local farmers and local food, and we get questions a lot about local cheeses. This was the inspiration for this event, so the Indiana Cheese Trail was born,” said ADAI Chief Executive Officer Jenni Browning.

The inaugural trail features stops at Crystal Springs Creamery, Schnabeltier, Fair Oaks Farms, Heritage Ridge Creamery, Tulip Tree Creamery, Hufford Family Farms, Golfo Di Napoli, Jacobs and Brichford and Steckler Grassfed Farms.

“We want to work with the local producers to give them all the recognition and support we can,” said Tim Haynes, Milk Man of the Indy 500 and ADAI board member.

I know this from experience – my mother was diabetic, and my wife has had Type I diabetes since she was 13 years old....
