Inaugural Twilight Market Kicks Off

The Market East District in downtown Indianapolis and the Indianapolis City Market are gearing up for the inaugural Twilight Market season, which kicks off Thursday evening. The event, which will feature farm stands, craft vendors and food tastings, will be held the second Thursday of every month through September.
The Twilight Markets will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Officials say they hope to "harness the buzzing energy of the day" and bring it into the nighttime activities.
"The Indianapolis City Market, with all its great daytime programming, has a real opportunity to capture a growing audience of market-goers who are staying downtown after the workday concludes by offering fun, lively events like the Twilight Market for families and guests of all ages," says Stevi Stoesz, executive director of the Indianapolis City Market. "Patterned after various street fairs around the country, Twilight Market is designed to celebrate local merchants and vendors and enhance placemaking in the Market East District."
The event will also feature live entertainment and a beer garden hosted by Tomlinson Tap Room. It is open to the public with street parking and bicycle racks available.
