The Indiana Innovation Institute has added Christopher Bencal as executive vice president for business development and Rodney Miller as chief technologist for hypersonics.

Bencal previously worked in business development executive roles at Battelle Memorial Institute and Raytheon. He served as a naval officer, naval aviator and joint service acquisition professional. Bencal holds a bachelor of science in physical science from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s degree in national security from the Naval War College.

Miller most recently served as special advisor for National Security Initiatives for Purdue University Discovery Park. He also served as a mission architect for Peraton Inc. Miller retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Air Force. Miller received a bachelor of science in nuclear engineering from Purdue University and a master’s and PhD in nuclear engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
