The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has announced the schedule for the Brickyard 400 weekend in July. IMS says on-track activities for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will take place over a condensed two-day period.
Practice and qualifying for the Brickyard 400 will take place Saturday July 22 with the race the following day. Saturday will also include qualifying and the race for the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Practice for that race will take place Friday, July 21.
The race weekend also includes a new Friday Fan Fest with NASCAR drivers and the Hauler Parade.
"This new, fan-friendly schedule packs all of the on-track action of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series into Saturday and Sunday," said IMS President Doug Boles. "Friday’s focus will be on providing engaging opportunities for our spectators, as NASCAR XFINITY Series practice and Fan Fest activities kick off one of the biggest weekends of the season for IMS and NASCAR."
