Former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard will join Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles, LPGA Commissioner Mike Wahn and other officials today to unveil details of the Indy Women in Tech Championship presented by Guggenheim. The event will take place September 4-10, 2017 at Brickyard Crossing Golf Course. According to the IMS website, 144 players will compete for a $2 million purse and a $300,000 winner’s check.
Tickets for the tournament will go on sale November 14. The Indy Women in Tech Championship will not be the first time the LPGA came to Speedway. The course, then known as Speedway Golf Course, hosted the 500 Ladies Classic in 1968.
The press conference detailing more about the event is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at IMS. Four stars from the LPGA, Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Gerina Piller and former IU player Danah Bordner, will be on hand for the press conference.
