Illinois Company Acquires Indy’s LeadJen

Illinois-based Acquirent LLC has added an Indianapolis sales and marketing lead generation company. As a result of the acquisition, LeadJen Chief Executive Officer Bill Johnson, a founder of the 13-year-old business, will give up day-to-day responsibilities. Acquirent Executive Vice President Geoff Winthrop has been named president of LeadJen. The company is not disclosing the acquisition price.
LeadJen will now be known as LeadJen, an Acquirent Company and remain headquartered in Indianapolis. Acquirent says, aside from Johnson, the existing LeadJen management team will stay in place, including Jen Burdess who will continue as vice president of finance and operations. Burdess says "first, we’d like to assure all our customers that there will be no disruption to service or support. Beyond that, we anticipate that becoming an Acquirent Company will present our team with excellent growth opportunities and an ability to expand our product offering to our clients. Always the leader in lead generation, LeadJen will now have the ability to expand into a fully outsourced sales offering."
In a video message posted online, the sales outsourcing company’s CEO Joe Flanagan says the acquisition of LeadJen is Acquirent’s first.
He adds "this acquisition is part of our five-year plan to invest in opportunities that will deepen or complete our capabilities in specific areas, including sales recruiting, marketing and data building services. Through LeadJen, Acquirent will also be able to offer our outsourced sales capabilities to smaller organizations who may not require the support of our entire solution, therefore expanding and diversifying our client base."
Acquirent says LeadJen has partnered with more than 500 clients since its founding in 2004 and the combined company will be "focused on the future, with an eye toward growth."
Winthrop told Inside INdiana Business in an email that 25 LeadJen employees will come to Acquirent, giving the company a total headcount of 115. LeadJen was co-founded by Jenny Vance, who last year left the company to become executive vice president of sales at Indianapolis-based PERQ LLC. In a news release announcing the addition of Vance, PERQ said LeadJen’s staff size had peaked at nearly 75 under Vance’s leadership and was twice honored as one of the nation’s fastest-growing companies on the Inc. 5000 list.
