The city of Fishers says its new IKEA store will officially open in two months. According to the city’s Twitter account, the grand opening for the $40 million store is set for Wednesday, October 11.
The event is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
IKEA announced in November plans for its first Indiana location. Construction on the 289,000 square-foot store began in October. The store will feature electric vehicle charging stations and a rooftop 1.34 megawatt solar array.
Last month, the Swedish retailer began hiring for 250 positions at the Fishers location. Positions include sales, customer service, facility management, security and child play area supervision. Information on the openings are available at the IKEA website.
