IHSAA Names Fund to Honor Former Commissioner, Wife

Subscribe NowThe former commissioner of the Indiana High School Athletic Association and his wife are being honored with the formation of the Bobby and Kathy Cox Endowment Fund. The IHSAA says Bobby and Kathy Cox served as educators for a combined 74 years, with Bobby Cox serving the last nine years as commissioner of the organization.
Bobby Cox announced his retirement from the IHSAA earlier this year, having worked for the organization since 2000.
The IHSAA Foundation has committed $100,000 to the endowment fund as a matching gift. IHSAA says for every dollar donated, the foundation will give two dollars.
As the fund grows, the interest earned from it will be used to continue supporting education-based athletics in Indiana.
The IHSAA says Cox was instrumental in the formation of the IHSAA Foundation, which helps to fund a variety of leadership programs for high school coaches and student-athletes.
