The Indiana Hospital Association has named Julie Halbig vice president of legislative relations. She previously served as vice president of governmental relations and community engagement at Ball State University. As a member of the president’s cabinet, Halbig managed a 28-member division that coordinated local, regional and statewide outreach and engagement. In her new role, she will lead IHA’s advocacy efforts and represent Indiana hospitals before policymakers at the state and national levels. In addition to her work at Ball State, Halbig has served the Indiana General Assembly as chief of staff and chief counsel to House Speaker Brian Bosma and the Indiana House Republican Caucus. Her background also includes extensive experience providing legislative counsel to various clients in her role as an attorney with both Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman and Taft, Stettinius and Hollister. Halbig is a graduate of Indiana University and the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at IUPUI.
