Board OKs Huntington University’s AZ Location

The university received approval Thursday from the Arizona Board of Private Postsecondary Education for the campus that will feature a bachelor’s degree program in digital media arts.
Huntington first announced plans for the Arizona campus in 2012 and received development approval from the Peoria City Council last July. The university has leased a 30,000 square-foot building for the program, classes for which are expected to begin in the fall semester.
"The opportunity to provide quality undergraduate degrees in an emerging STEM technology fields of media, animation and design, known as the digital media arts, aligns clearly with the mission of Huntington University," said Sherilyn Emberton, Huntington president. "We commend the city of Peoria and its surrounding community for their enduring efforts to recruit our institution to Arizona and we are beyond excited about the economic opportunities our graduates will bring to the creative and innovative sector of industry in this region."
The digital media arts program will offer majors in film production, broadcast-fusion media and graphic design. The facility will include film and television studios, computer labs, private edit suites and a state-of-the-art TV control room, among other amenities.
