Huntington Touts Continued Growth
Huntington University says the 2017-2018 academic year represents the fourth consecutive year of enrollment growth. The university has enrolled 1,321 students for the fall semester, the largest figure in the school’s 120-year history.
The university has 913 undergraduates enrolled at its main campus in Huntington, 87 at its Arizona location, 79 adult students enrolled in professional programs and 242 graduate students. Huntington’s total of new students represents a 9 percent increase over the previous year.
"We are excited and thankful for another year of growing enrollment. It creates energy at our sites in Huntington, Fort Wayne and Arizona. With the addition of new students comes new perspectives that help each of us better understand the world and how we can make positive contributions," said Daniel Solms, vice president for enrollment management and marketing at HU. "As our community grows, our mission expands, developing men and women in Christ, scholarship and service."
HU says it now has nearly 40 declared agriculture majors since the launch of the Haupert Institute for Agricultural Studies two years ago. President Sherilyn Emberton appeared on Inside INdiana Business Television in June describing the university’s continued focus on agriculture.
Huntington was also recently ranked among the top Regional Colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report.
