Mayor Denny Spinner, Boxer Girl LLC and Jagoe Homes are partnering on the privately-funded project, which is expected to result in more than 120 homes. It is part of Huntingburg's 2014 Stellar Communities designation.
"This project is extremely important because it meets the need for affordable, quality workforce housing," said Mayor Denny Spinner in a news release. "By adding to the housing inventory in Huntingburg, we will be able to attract the highly-skilled workforce that is desperately needed by all industries throughout the county."
The project is to be completed in phases, beginning in the spring of 2016.
Boxer Girl LLC is led by Jane Hendrickson, a former vice president at Davis Homes and director of development at Buckingham Companies. "My first visit to Huntingburg was prior to the Stellar designation, and even then, I knew it was a community where I wanted to be," said Hendrickson.
Jagoe Homes is an Owensboro, Kentucky-based builder with projects in communities including Evansville, Newburgh and Louisville.
