Around 100 nonprofits are set to take part in next week’s 14th annual Get on Board event. Director Adrianne Slash says the organizations will be able to tap into a "massive mix" of people as they look to diversify their boards. Organizers expect around 700 attendees, ranging from recent college graduates looking for their first opportunity to serve, to retired professionals, who want to lend their expertise. Get on Board is set for Monday at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Leadership Indianapolis, which presents the annual Get on Board Event, says it has helped match more than 3,500 board members, committee members and leadership volunteers with community organizations. Leadership Indianapolis’ other events and programs include the Stankley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, Civic Boot Camp and the Civic Leadership Summit.

In addition to small, startup organizations, Slash says some big names are also participating in this year’s event. They include the Boys & Girls Club of Indianapolis, Catholic Charities Indianapolis and IndyFringe. She says this year’s list includes organizations from almost every service sector, including community service, education, environment and arts and culture.

The 14th annual Get on Board event is set for Monday, September 28 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Slash says the organizations run the gamut of the nonprofit sector.
