The Humane Society of Hamilton County will open its new location on Wednesday. The 40,000-square-foot facility features outdoor green space for the dogs as well as indoor ‘catios’ for cats with access to sunlight and fresh air.
The shelter will include an education center that will offer community outreach programs and youth volunteer opportunities. The facility is also expected to house a medical center to treat injured and seriously ill animals.
The shelter says operations are temporarily closed while moving into the facility.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be live streamed on the Human Society of Hamilton County’s Facebook page at noon on Wednesday. It will open to the public on April 8.
