House Committee Assignments Unveiled

Indiana House Republicans and Democrats have announced their respective standing committee assignments for the 2021 session of the Indiana General Assembly.
The legislative session is scheduled to begin January 4, with House lawmakers convening at 1:30 p.m.
The appointments are made every two years after each election.
“We have many new members who bring a wide range of talent and experience from both the public and private sectors to our already strong team,” House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers) said. “Despite the challenging budget session ahead, we have a full bench of legislators who are ready to get to work and tackle the top issues that matter most to Hoosiers.”
Last month, Huston announced the House leadership and committee chair appointments for the upcoming session.
“My colleagues and I are ready to hit the ground running in these committees,” House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) said. “This year is going to look a little different, but I still anticipate thoughtful input from the public and many robust discussions on legislation for the betterment of all Hoosiers.”
