Hotel Planned For Old School in Jeffersonville

A $15 million hotel project is moving forward on the property of an empty Jeffersonville school building. ARC Construction Management LLC has received approval from the Jeffersonville Plan Commission to build a 93-room Marriott TownePlace Suites Hotel on the site of the former Rose Hill School in the city’s downtown.
The News & Tribune reports the project will also include 1,200 square-feet of retail space.
The publication says the company has owned the property since 2013 and had previously detailed a proposed mixed-used development called "The Loft at Big Four Station." The News & Tribune says plans also include an indoor pool and more than 90 parking spaces. The hotel is expected to employ around four dozen. It will not incorporate the old school structure into the new construction.
The new plan still needs additional city approvals.
