Hotel Going Up on Former Restaurant Site

Construction is underway in Mishawaka on a new hotel from Merrillville-based White Lodging Services Corp. The 126-room Home2 Suites by Hilton will be located where Honkers Family Restaurant once stood.

The four-story hotel will feature all suites and will be owned and managed by White Lodging and its affiliates.

Investments and Development President Deno Yiankes says "the continued growth in Mishawaka since we opened our first hotel here 21 years ago continues to impress. We have a strong commitment to our home state of Indiana and are proud to develop the first Home2 property in our portfolio in Mishawaka."

The hotel will be located a few miles from the University of Notre Dame campus. Construction is set to be complete before Fighting Irish football season begins next year.
