Hospital Association President to Retire

The president of the Indiana Hospital Association is preparing to step down. Doug Leonard, who has served as president since 2007, says he will retire in June 2017.
The IHA says during his tenure, Leonard helped improve patient care and guided the association through the implementations of the Affordable Care Act and the Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0. He also created the MyCareInsight.org website, giving consumers quality and charge data for hospitals throughout Indiana.
"Doug’s leadership at IHA has helped improve the quality of health care for millions of people across Indiana," said Bryan Mills, board chairman of the IHA. "He has enhanced IHA’s role as the leading voice for Hoosier hospitals and their patients."
Before being named president of the IHA, Leonard spent 30 years at Columbus Regional Hospital, including 10 years as chief executive officer. The IHA Board of Directors has formed a search committee to find a successor.
