Hope Family Care Center in Cicero has named a new executive director.
Brian Peters replaces Michael Jenkins, who founded the nonprofit provider of free medical, dental, women’s health, counseling, and related services to the uninsured, underinsured and medically under-served patients in central Indiana.
Peters has worked in health care for more than 30 years, including serving as the chief operations officer of Minnesota-based health care software provider MatrixCare from 2018-2020. His experience extends into the development and implementation of home care software, Hope said in a news release. Peters has a bachelor’s degree in business administration/systems analysis from Taylor University and an MBA from Butler University.
Jenkins will continue as the president of the organization’s board of directors. He served as executive director for more than 20 years on a volunteer basis.
“Mike’s long commitment to our mission has played a crucial role in Hope’s development,” the nonprofit said in the news release.
Hope Family Care Center was founded in 2003 by Cicero Christian Church and the clinic opened a year later, according to its website. It serves people in Boone, Hamilton, Madison and Tipton counties.
Last year it experienced a 50% increase in patient visits.
