Indiana Minority Business Magazine is recognizing five Hoosiers for prioritizing diversity and inclusion in their businesses. The recipients come from a span of different fields and are all being celebrated for being leaders in their efforts to promote acceptance in their industries.

The awards will be received on Jan. 18 at the 2019 Champions of Diversity Dinner, an annual event hosted by the magazine to honor individuals, companies and statewide organizations that have exemplified diversity through their hiring practices, outreach programs or have individually overcome racial or gender barriers.

The recipients will be:

• William G. Mays Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award: Nathan and Debbie Oatts, founders of Nubian Construction and Oatts Trucking

• Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Award: Jim and Nancy Cotterill, founders of UNITE INDY

• Rosa Parks Trailblazer Award: Singh Khalsa, chairman of SikhsPAC
