Hoosier Theatre Venues Among ‘Top 200’
Several Indiana locations are included in Pollstar’s 2017 Top 200 Theatre Venues list. The rankings are determined by the number of single tickets sold throughout the year.
The Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne is the highest-ranking Indiana venue on the list at number 107. The theater, which sold 71,609 single tickets in 2017, completed a major $10 million renovation the previous year.
"The Embassy Theatre’s board of directors, donors, staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly in welcoming Northeast Indiana audiences," said Kelly Updike, chief executive officer of the Embassy. "This ranking is a testament to the community’s support and their love for the Embassy. It is an honor to share the recognition with other theaters around the world. It is a very fitting recognition as we celebrate our 90th anniversary in 2018."
The other Indiana venues included on the list are:
- Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend – #114 (64,968 tickets sold)
- Old National Events Plaza, Evansville – #155 (40,343 tickets sold)
- Honeywell Center, Wabash – #178 (33,013 tickets sold)
