Hoosier Student Seeking Spot on FFA Officer Team

Subscribe NowAs the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis draws near, a student from Hancock County is looking toward a leadership role within the organization. Annalee Witte, a sophomore at Purdue University, is competing with students from throughout the country to serve on the 2017-2018 National FFA officer team.
Witte served as secretary on the 2015-2016 Indiana FFA officer team. Originally from Wilkinson, Indiana, she grew up on a grain and livestock farm and was an Indiana FFA member for four years.
"FFA transformed me into the person I am today, and I want to help students realize their own transformations," Witte said. "While being a National FFA Officer would be an honor, for me, this role is the greatest opportunity to serve the organization and its members by being an advocate for agriculture and them."
The Indiana State Department of Agriculture says Witte is currently majoring in Agricultural Communications, Marketing, and Sales at Purdue.
The six members of the National FFA officer team are chosen through a week-long selection process that includes written and verbal exams, as well as mock classroom discussions. The officers will be announced on the last day of the convention.
