A Bluffton-based snack food maker is planning to launch a second Indiana operation and add up to 65 jobs over the next four years. Pretzels Inc. says it will invest $15 million into a new Plymouth plant.
The Marshall county operation will replace a facility in Pennsylvania. It will pump out peanut butter and bulk pretzel products for private label clients, store brands and its own Harvest Road line. The company says peanut butter-filled nuggets are its fastest-growing product line. The new 45,000 square-foot plant is expected to fire up next year.
The family-owned company was founded nearly 40 years ago. Chip Mann and Steve Huggins, whose fathers launched the business, said "we are excited about the opportunity to build our new plant in Indiana and particularly the Plymouth area. We are lifelong Indiana residents and are pleased to continue the growth of our business in our home state."
Pretzels Inc. has been offered up to $350,000 in conditional tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
