Hoosier Organization Nominated for ‘Nicest Place in America’

Reader’s Digest has named the 50 finalists of its third annual search for "The Nicest Place in America." A Hoosier organization has made the national crowd-sourced list of places where the publication says "people are kind and treat each other with respect."
Lafayette Transitional Housing Center in Lafayette has been nominated among 49 other places as one of the Nicest Place in America.
LTHC Homeless Services is a day shelter for people who are experiencing homelessness. The organization provides support to connect people in need with resources in their community.
To determine the winning places, Reader’s Digest editors consider the a popular vote along with input from a panel of judges that includes David Brooks, op-ed columnist for the New York Times, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot of Feeding America and Sarah Friar of NextDoor.
