A nonprofit organization that encourages women to work in the trucking industry has listed the top transportation companies for women to work for, and four Hoosier businesses made the list.
The Women In Trucking Association says the listed-companies share similar characteristics, including corporate cultures that foster gender diversity, competitive compensation and benefits, and flexible hours and work requirements.
“These corporate attributes are essential to any successful enterprise that is serious about gender diversity,” said Brian Everett, publisher of Redefining the Road, WIT’s official magazine.
Everett adds the top companies also offer professional development and career advancement opportunities.
The following Indiana companies made the list:
- Carter Express – Anderson
- Cummins – Columbus
- Palmer Trucks – Indianapolis
- Venture Transport Logistics – Indianapolis
The 2022 “Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation” list is comprised of a diverse range of business sectors in the commercial freight transportation marketplace, including motor carriers, third-party logistics companies, and original equipment manufacturers.
This is the fifth year the organization has recognized the top transportation companies.
