Noblesville-based Realized Worth and Indianapolis-based Giving Spring will discuss how volunteerism and service can address issues including poverty, inequality and climate change.
The summit runs through Friday at the United Nations headquarters. It focuses on the organization’s Sustainable Development Goals, which are supported by 193 countries.
Realized Worth is a global consulting firm focusing on engaging employees in corporate volunteering and giving programs. The United Nations Office of Partnerships tapped Chief Executive Officer Chris Jarvis to design and launch a private sector-led initiative to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals through corporate volunteering. He says the Impact 2030 effort "will establish a global framework for conversation and measurement while still allowing leaders to make local progress towards the SDGs."
GivingSpring consults with businesses on helping them create community engagement strategies. Founder Dora Lutz serves as the Midwest Regional Voice Lead for Impact 2030, and says volunteerism "must be done strategically and collaboratively if we want to be able to measure impact to the community and the bottom line of our businesses."
