Hoosier Beer Makers Add Honors

Three Indiana breweries have taken home awards from one of the world’s most high-profile industry competitions. Craft brewers in Indianapolis, Munster and South Bend were awarded medals this weekend at the World Beer Cup in Denver.
Bier Brewery and Taproom in Indianapolis won two gold medals. One for "Sanitarium" in the Belgian-Style Dubbel or Quadrupel category and another for "ESB" in the Extra Special Bitter category, beating out a combined 140 entries.
Munster-based Three Floyds Brewing Co. also took gold for its "Blot Out the Sun" American-Style Imperial Stout, besting more than 60 competitors.
The "Glasgow Butcher" from Crooked Ewe Brewery & Ale House in South Bend was the bronze medalist out of 70 entries in the Scotch Ale category.
The contest awarded medals in over 90 categories and featured a record number of entries from a total of 63 countries.
