The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a more than $47 million contract to Honeywell International Inc (NYSE: HON) in South Bend. The five-year contract calls for the production of aircraft wheel and brake spare parts for the U.S. Air Force.
All of the work for the contract will be performed in Indiana and is expected to be complete by December 21, 2021. The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Hill Air Force Base in Utah is the contracting activity.
This is the second military contract for Honeywell in 2016. Earlier this year, Honeywell was awarded a three-year, $18.3 million contract for the production of brakes for the F/A-18 aircraft.
