Holladay to Break Ground on The Illiana

Wednesday, July 3, 2019 03:50 PM EDT Updated: Wednesday, July 3, 2019 05:29 PM EDT
Holladay to Break Ground on The Illiana Phair says the 1.6 million square feet under construction at AmeriPlex at Indianapolis is "nearly full."

Holladay Properties will host a groundbreaking ceremony for The Illiana, a 41,000-square-foot development on July 8. The company says the five-story building will feature first floor commercial space and 32 two-bedroom/two-bath apartments.

The Illiana will have city provided utilities and 10-year tax abatement.

Curran Architecture is the building’s architect and Holladay Construction Group, LLC is the General Contractor for the project.

“This is a great day for Northwest Indiana,” said A.J. Monroe, vice president of Planning and Development for Holladay Properties. “It has been a stated goal of community leaders and planners in Whiting and throughout Northwest Indiana to promote infill development, and Holladay Properties is happy to play a role in helping Whiting realize this goal.”

The ceremony will be at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 1849 Lincoln Ave in Whiting at 4 p.m.

Nearly two years into the steepest increase in interest rates in over 40 years, can we now say we've achieved a soft landing? Or is this a delayed economic response with a 2024 recession certain to come?...
