Holcomb to Make Jobs Announcement in Orleans

Governor Eric Holcomb will Friday make an economic development announcement in Orleans. The governor will join local elected officials and executives from Jasper Group in the Orange County town, where the company announced last year it would expand a manufacturing facility that was previously set to close.
Jasper Group, which is based in Dubois County, acquired the 1.2 million-square-foot building from the Orange County Economic Development Partnership in December. The organization received ownership of the facility from Paoli LLC, which announced in October 2016 it would close the building and lay off nearly 500 employees.
About 120 workers were still employed at the time Jasper Group acquired the building. The company said it planned to retain the workers and add more manufacturing jobs once operations began. Jasper Group said it planned to use the facility for manufacturing, warehousing and shipping.
Holcomb’s announcement is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday.
