Holcomb Provides Taste of Next Four Years

Subscribe NowGovernor-elect Eric Holcomb is providing a glimpse into how he intends to take Indiana "to the next level" over the next four years. The Republican lieutenant governor, defeated Democratic candidate John Gregg Tuesday after a hotly-contested campaign. Holcomb also announced his transition team, which includes Pacers Sports and Entertainment Inc. Vice Chair Jim Morris, WGU Indiana Chancellor Allison Barber and La Porte Mayor Blair Milo.
During a news conference Wednesday in Indianapolis, the governor-elect said he will focus on four main pillars during his time in office.
He says his economic focus will be to continue to build on policies and a state environment he says is attractive to businesses who want to locate to the state. "That’s what we’ve proven to do well over the last decade-plus and we’ll continue to build on that."
Holcomb says he will sit down with members of the Democratic Party in order to "seek input from whatever political jersey you wear" and find the best ideas for moving the state forward. Holcomb also added his administration will include "new faces."
Holcomb told reporters in Indianapolis that he talked with Trump and Pence Tuesday following his victory and credited the next team in the White House with bringing out supportive voters from all political stripes and even some "who I believe never have (voted) before."
