Governor Eric J. Holcomb has named Dr. Lee Ann Kwiatkowski as interim executive director of the Indiana State Board of Education. Kwiatkowski will replace Matt Voors while continuing to serve as the governor’s senior education adviser.

“Lee Ann will serve in this dual role as we work through the legislative session. We’re fortunate to have someone with her mix of expertise and experience to lead the board’s operations,” Holcomb said in a news release.

Dr. Kwiatkowski began her role as senior education adviser to Gov. Holcomb in May 2018. Prior to that, she served as chief of staff to Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction.

The board will review the governor’s appointment on February 6.
