Governor Eric Holcomb has selected Michael McMains to serve as chairman of the Indiana Gaming Commission. McMains succeeds Cris Johnson, who resigned from the position to become a deputy chief of staff for Holcomb.
McMains is an attorney who from 2010 to 2017 served on staff for then-U.S. Senator Dan Coats. He held roles during that time including state director and senior counsel for Coats.
"I got to know Mike when he served as state director for then-Sen. Dan Coats," Holcomb said in a news release. "He is thoughtful, hard-working and has great integrity. I have total confidence in him to lead this commission well."
Holcomb reappointed Johnston to the commission in September. His term was set to expire in 2020.
