The city says next year’s program will focus on investing in areas disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as projects that address long-term consequences.
According to the city, the 2021 designees will both receive a three-year commitment of HOME & CDBG dollars.
The city says the program’s overall goal is to support growth of economic development opportunities, preservation and development of quality affordable housing, and availability of social services, among others.
To determine this year’s designees, the city says the Polis Center at IUPUI and the Department of Metropolitan Development worked together to compile data and potential factors to measure the impact of the pandemic on communities throughout Indianapolis.
The city says the program’s second recipient area will be announced in early 2021.
A virtual press conference is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. You can connect to more information about the program by clicking here.
