In a Facebook post, Adam and Stacey Confer say they will work to make Bunker Hill Dragstrip a place "we can all enjoy." In November, previous owners Steve and Darlene Daniels announced they had reduced the original asking price.
The property hit the market last year after the Daniels, who bought the dragstrip in the 1990s, announced they were seeking younger buyers who would be more focused on marketing.
It includes nearly two dozen acres and was repaved six years ago. The Outpost Bar and Grill, included in the sale, was opened in 2012. The Daniels have also been attempting to offload the adjacent Bunker Hill Speedway property. The asking price is $200,000 and includes some track maintenance equipment.
The Facebook post, signed by the Confers, reads:
Good evening. It is now official that Bunker Hill Dragstrip and the Outpost Bar and Grill has been sold! As the new owners, we intend to work very hard to make the racing and the atmosphere at the Outpost a great place to have many new memories and a place we can all enjoy.
This weekend we intend to have a drivers meeting before eliminations to discuss information pertaining to racing. If mother nature has different plans then we will do a meet and greet and answer any questions at the Outpost instead. Either way come see us Friday and Saturday "Let the Fun Begin".
Finally we give Steve and Darlene a special thanks for the hard work and patience they have extended to us through this transition. We also are very grateful to the many friends and family who have supported us from day one!!
