Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Lamprecht’s Florist and Greenhouse had faced increased competition in recent years, especially from grocery stores.
The company’s phone number has been disconnected and a sign outside says, "thank you for 92 years." The publication says it could not reach the owners for comment.
Lamprecht’s opened in 1923. The Indiana Historical Society placed a historic road marker at the site of the company to honor the Lamprechts and fellow Dutch immigrants who settled in Highland, according to The Times.
