Indianapolis-based ExactTarget's massive Connections digital marketing convention is moving to New York City. This year's event wrapped up Thursday in Indianapolis, drawing nearly 10,000 people. Visit Indy estimates the convention's economic impact at about $8 million. The first event was held in 2007 and had fewer than 1,000 attendees. It has also featured well-known musicians, most recently, Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas performed and discussed entrepreneurship.

Connections has been billed as “the world's largest interactive marketing conference.”

Visit Indy Vice President of Marketing and Communications Chris Gahl says the event offered the city “priceless” levels of exposure because of the high-profile leaders and executives it attracted.
