Indianapolis-based Herron Classical Schools says it will buy the former Salvation Army building located next to The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis to open a new campus. Herron says the campus will become the permanent home of Herron Preparatory Academy.
Herron Prep is a tuition-free K-8 school that opened in August 2021. It currently serves K-2nd grades and plans to add a grade level each year. It currently resides in modular units on the Herron High School campus.
In 2018, the museum purchased the property from Salvation Army, after the not-for-profit moved its operations.
