Max Weintraub has joined the Herron School of Art and Design as gallery director. He most recently taught modern and contemporary art to graduate and undergraduate students at Hunter College in New York. Weintraub holds a Ph.D. in art history with a focus on modern and contemporary art from Bryn Mawr College and a master’s degree in art history with a focus on medieval European history from North Carolina State University. His curatorial experience includes positions in the education department of the Whitney Museum; management of the Reis Collection, a private holding of more than 200 significant works in New York; and working in the department of painting and sculpture at the Denver Art Museum.
