‘Hendricks is Hiring’ Launches

The Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership is spearheading a new partnership designed to help fill what the organization says are more than a thousand job openings in the county. The "Hendricks is Hiring" program involves a new job search website and a media advertising campaign.
Executive Director Cinda Kelley-Hutchings and Plainfield Town Council President Robin Brandgard gathered representatives from more than 25 employers from throughout the county and used the feedback to develop the initiative.
Marketing & Communications Director Jaime Johnson says "Hendricks County is suffering because of its own success. The county has long been a desirable destination for companies in logistics, advanced manufacturing, medical devices and motorsports. But the growth has absorbed the available local work force, driving the county’s unemployment rate well below the national average. That’s tough on companies that are still hiring. As more new employers open facilities, the number of vacancies grows."
The HCEDP expects the campaign to generate nearly three million impressions over the course of eight weeks.
