Indianapolis-based Helen Wells Agency has named Lisa Burns chief executive officer and president. The Helen Wells Agency, founded in 1980, has long been the leading firm placing actors, models and other talent with a host of national and regional advertisers, marketing firms, movie and television producers. Burns previously served as advancement director and executive director of the former Russian Ballet Academy (succeeded by Indianapolis Ballet Conservatory). Most recently served as managing director of Keystone Growth Strategies, a boutique-consulting firm that leads growth initiatives for local and regional organizations. Notable among her successes, Burns led local nonprofit DREAM Alive Inc. Founded by former Indianapolis Colts standout Tarik Glenn, DREAM Alive mentors middle-and high-school youth to develop leaders through innovative mentorship and character development training. DREAM Alive’s success spawned a satellite program opening in New York City in 2017, its first of many planned outposts. HWA recently opened a Louisville office in January, its first location beyond Indianapolis.
