Heartland Film Festival President Stepping Down

The president of the Heartland Film Festival is stepping down. Heartland Film Board Chairman Gary Cohen has announced that Stuart Lowry is leaving the organization for personal reasons.
Frank Basile, philanthropist and retired executive of the Gene B. Glick Co., will step in as interim president. Basile previously served as interim president and chief executive officer of the Center for the Performing Arts in 2011 and 2012.
“Heartland Film has never been stronger as an organization, and we are positioning to take a significant step forward in the years to come,” said Cohen. “Our Board is very grateful both to Stuart for his significant contributions to our success, and to Frank for his willingness to lead our efforts at this critical time.”
The organization said Lowry was critical in the growth of the Heartland Film Festival as well as key staff development. Cohen said Lowry helped the organization to secure a sound financial future.
The 25th annual Heartland Film Festival will take place Oct. 21-30, 2016 across Indianapolis.
