Health Groups Land Grants

The Reid Community Benefit program has awarded around $130,000 in grants to programs promoting health and wellness. The organization says it has awarded more than $400,000 to community organizations this year.
The funding targets programs focusing on nutrition, physical activity and weight control in the region served by Reid Health. The health system says its grants and other outreach efforts have put more than $130 million back into the community over the last five years.
The awards were given to 11 area agencies. The recipients and grant amounts are:

Girls Inc. of Wayne County — $5,520
Noah’s Ark Daycare — $3,200
Richmond Friends School — $13,500
Richmond Parks and Recreation — $7,500

Thump Jumpers — $4,820
Wayne County Cardinal Greenways — $25,795
