Health-Focused Alliance Hitting The Road

Town hall meetings hosted by the Alliance for a Healthier Indiana will come to 16 more cities through mid-October. Friday’s kick-off event, which drew more than 300 attendees, took place at the Indiana State of Our Health Summit in Indianapolis. The alliance says the road shows focus on combating tobacco use, infant mortality, opioid abuse and obesity by gathering local leaders, health care providers and public officials to share ideas.
Alliance Chairman Bryan Mills, who is chief executive officer of Indianapolis-based Community Health Network, says "the Alliance and its partners are committed to improving Hoosier health, but we need support and engagement from concerned communities to achieve our goals. Our hope is that by meeting citizens and community leaders where they live and work and providing a forum for sharing ideas, we will build significant grassroots support for the Alliance and its priorities heading into the 2019 legislative session."
